Locallista’s business model
The Locallista business model for partners
Locallista’s business model is a bit different from what you’re used to.
So what does “no booking - no service fee” actually mean?
And how much do you pay for work that comes through Locallista?
Let’s break it down.
At Locallista - no booking, no service fee
Unlike advertising platforms that charge you upfront with no guarantee of return, Locallista charges only when you actually close a confirmed job and receive payment for it.
We do not sell leads.
We do not sell impressions.
We do not sell visibility boosts.
Our model is service fee per completed service.
That means we only earn when you earn.
If there is no real value created - we don’t charge.
This principle is not a marketing slogan. It’s embedded in how we built the platform.
A client contacted you but didn’t book? You don’t pay
In the advertising world, the standard model is “pay per lead.”
A client fills out a form.
A client calls.
A client clicks.
You pay.
They were just comparing prices
They decided to postpone
They chose someone else
They never responded again
At Locallista, that’s not how it works.
We are not an advertising platform.
We are a curated, review-driven community built around trust.
When a client contacts you through Locallista, they have already:
Seen your ranking within your category and read great past client reviews
Read your detailed profile and understood your strengths
This is designed to significantly increase the likelihood of conversion.
Still - we wait.
Only when the job is actually completed and paid for do we collect a service fee.
What is the service fee rate?
The service fee is predefined per category.
It typically ranges between 5% and 12%, depending on the type of service and the economics of the category. In some categories, the service fee is a fixed amount that’s paid once for the acquisition of a new customer.
There are no hidden fees.
No monthly subscription required to appear.
No payment for leads.
You pay only on real business generated.
What about the initial vetting process?
Not every business can appear on Locallista.
We maintain strict quality standards, which include:
Multiple independent expat recommendations
Phone validation of past clients
Detailed review scoring
Ongoing performance monitoring
This process requires time, manpower, and real operational cost.
To keep our community strong, we charge businesses that join our community a one time entry fee (per city) that supports our efforts of curating the best businesses out there, vetting them, helping them shine with marketing assets and building a strong community of customers on the other side
If a business does not meet the quality threshold, we do not list them and we refund the paid entry fees.
We are selective on purpose.
Trust is our product.
Small or big - our values will never change
We have a simple internal principle: grow without losing integrity.
As Locallista expands to new cities and categories, we remain committed to:
Transparency
Fairness
No pay-to-play ranking
Review-based positioning only
Clear service fee logic
We expect professionalism and honesty from the businesses listed on the platform.
We hold ourselves to the same standard and aim to create long-term value for both customers and businesses.
If a partner pays Locallista €1 in commission, our goal is that they generate at least €10 in real revenue in return.
If that ratio doesn’t exist - the model doesn’t make sense to us and we take actions to change it.
That’s what we consider fair.
